Format of Board Resolution for Change of Name in Electricity Bill

When a company changes its name officially, it has to also apply for changing its name in the records of various statutory bodies viz. income tax dept, banks, electricity board, etc., wherever the company name is registered.

The electricity provider company may ask for a copy of board resolution and other supporting documents viz. ROC approval certificate, when the company applies for a change of its name for its electricity connection for any of its premises.

You may refer the following specimen board resolution while drafting.

RESOLVED FURTHER THAT Mr. / Ms. (Name of the Officer), (Designation) be and is hereby authorised sign and submit the necessary application form along with all documents as may be required to be submitted to the (....name of the electricity company....) for changing the name of the company for the above mentioned electricity connection, and also authorised to take all such steps and do all such acts, deeds and things as may be necessary or incidental thereto.

RESOLVED FURTHER THAT Mr. / Ms. (Name of the Officer), (Designation) be and is hereby authorised to sign and forward a true copy of the foregoing resolution to (Name of the Electricity Company) with regard to the application for change of name for electricity connection.”
